my american perspective on world events
I HATE IT HERE

There are just so many reason why
Lets start with the lack of certainty, the obscurity of the truth, the unknowability of all the tragedies taking place today. The future continuously looks even more disastrous than it does today.
Some people see misinformation and inflammatory propaganda as unavoidable variances in the endless information stream everyone connected to internet has access to. This is a huge issue because of the way our virtually illuminated worlds categorize us into echo chambers. We create false certainty in our individual endless scrolls.
Humans rarely have control over what makes them distinct from others
The way someone is categorized depends on their race, class, gender, or desires. None of these things are consciously chosen by an individual. The way truth looks is also dependent on categorizations that influence ones lived experience every day. I think the worst category to be in involves whiteness.
To be white, in so many different countries, is to be normal. Whiteness is so violent because being seen as normal is equivalent to being seen as human. Only with this humanity can one easily obtain a job or opportunities for a better life. Obviously I am simplifying things here but my point is that poor, disabled, elderly, or people divergent in any way are no longer seen as white. If one can not survive under the individualistic nature of whiteness they cease to be human.

The ubiquity of whiteness, in America specifically, has gotten us to this terrible point. Anyone of any race can uphold the culture of whiteness by working hard everyday and loyally prioritizing their independence. People who are not visually white can be the most sincere supporters of whiteness, because that support allows them to access freedom through financial gain.
To live in luxury with agency, conveniences and stability is to be certain that the benefits of whiteness outweighs any negativity. Any news of disaster experienced by others might as well be fake. Pain can so easily get swallowed up by the numbing effect of consumption.
The most uncertain truth: how long can we all collectively and individually afford it?
